Terms of Service & Seller Agreement
This is the contract between you and DoctorPCB LLC (DoctorPCB) when you sell us a device. You accept it, with its version number recorded, when you accept an offer.
Key points
- Your offer is a real offer, valid 14 days, and it is what we pay if the device matches your description.
- If inspection finds something different we send a revised offer with photos and a reason. You can accept it or have the device returned free. If you don't respond within 7 days the revised offer is accepted automatically.
- You must own the device, be 18+, provide government ID, turn off activation locks, and disclose battery and glass hazards truthfully.
- By law we hold devices for 10 days before resale; we pay you after inspection, not after the hold.
- We erase all data on the device. Back up anything you need first — once shipped it cannot be recovered.
1. Eligibility and ownership
You must be at least 18 years old, a resident of the United States, and the lawful owner of the device with full authority to sell it. Devices that are financed and unpaid, subject to a lease, reported lost or stolen, or provided by an employer or carrier without a right to sell are not eligible. You represent that all information you give us is accurate.
2. Identification and record-keeping
We operate as a secondhand dealer. Before we pay you we collect your legal name, date of birth and a valid government photo ID (type, issuer and number), and for phones the IMEI. We check identifiers against lost/stolen databases, keep transaction records for 7 years, and make them available to law enforcement and municipal licensing authorities where an ordinance or legal process requires. Devices are held for at least 10 days after receipt (the "hold period") before being resold, and may be surrendered to police if reported stolen; in that case no payment is due and the transaction is void.
3. Offers
An offer is generated from the model, configuration and condition answers you provide. It is valid for 14 days from issue ("offer window") and the price is locked when you accept it and the carrier scans your parcel within the window. Offers below our minimum (currently $5.00) are "recycle only": we accept the device for free, responsible recycling and no payment is due. We may correct obvious pricing errors before acceptance. Prices are in US dollars.
4. Shipping, packing and hazardous materials
We provide a prepaid ground shipping label. You agree to:
- Pack the device per our Packing Guide and the packing sheet we issue, including the UN3481 lithium-battery mark where applicable;
- Not upgrade the label to an air service and not ship a device we have marked "carrier prohibited" (damaged, swollen or leaking battery) — we will arrange local drop-off or pickup instead;
- Disclose truthfully whether the device contains a lithium battery and whether it is damaged, whether glass is broken, and whether it has liquid damage. False hazmat declarations violate 49 CFR 171.2 and carrier tariffs; you are responsible for any resulting fines or damages, and the offer is void.
Risk of loss passes to us when the carrier scans the parcel. Parcels that arrive empty, with a different device, or with signs of tampering are documented with photos and the offer is revised or cancelled accordingly.
5. Inspection and revised offers
Within two business days after the hold period ends we inspect the device against your answers. If it matches, we pay the offer price. If it does not (for example a different model, undisclosed damage, an active activation lock, or a blacklisted IMEI), we issue a revised offer with a plain-language reason and photos.
You then have 7 days to accept the revised offer or decline it, in which case we return the device to your ship-from address at no charge. If you do not respond within 7 days, the revised offer is deemed accepted and we pay it. This auto-acceptance is necessary because we cannot store unclaimed devices indefinitely; you can avoid it simply by responding. Devices returned to an undeliverable address and unclaimed for 60 days are treated as abandoned and recycled.
6. Payment
We pay by the method you chose at acceptance: bank transfer via Stripe Connect, PayPal, or check. Stripe payouts are usually same-day; PayPal within 1 business day; checks within 7–10 days. Payment is conditional on a clean IMEI check and a verified identity. We are not responsible for delays caused by incorrect payout details you provide. Amounts under the minimum offer are not paid (see §3). Payments may be reported to tax authorities where required; you are responsible for any tax consequences of the sale.
7. Data on your device
Back up and sign out before shipping. Remove SIM and memory cards, turn off Find My / Activation Lock / Factory Reset Protection, and factory-reset if the device allows it. We sanitise all storage to NIST SP 800-88 (Clear, Purge or Destroy) before resale or recycling and issue a certificate. We do not access, copy or retain your files; any data remaining on a device when it reaches us is treated as abandoned and is destroyed. We cannot return data after sanitisation and are not liable for data loss.
8. Cancellation and returns
You may cancel any time before the carrier scans the parcel. After receipt, the device can be returned only by declining a revised offer (§5). Once we have paid you, the sale is final and title passes to us.
9. Prohibited conduct
Do not sell devices you do not own, misrepresent condition or hazards, use another person's identity, submit fraudulent IMEIs, or interfere with the service. We may refuse service, cancel offers and report fraud to law enforcement.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by Idaho law, our total liability for any claim arising from a transaction is limited to the offer amount for that device. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including data loss. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Idaho Consumer Protection Act (Idaho Code Title 48, Chapter 6) that cannot be waived.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho. Before filing any claim you agree to contact us at support@doctorpcb.com and allow 30 days to resolve it. Claims may be brought in the small-claims or district courts of Ada County, Idaho, or, for consumers, the courts of your home state where the law so requires.
12. Accounts and communications
Keep your login credentials confidential. We send transactional email about your offers; marketing email only if you opt in, and you can opt out anytime. By accepting an offer you consent to receive documents (labels, packing sheets, certificates, receipts) electronically.
13. Changes
We may update these terms; the version in force when you accept an offer governs that transaction. Current version: 1.0.
